SafeDate is committed to respecting the privacy rights of all visitors to our Web site. The following policy describes how SafeDate protects information it receives from visitors to its Web properties.
1. What information does SafeDate collect from visitors?
SafeDate is the sole owner of the information collected on this site. We will not sell, share or rent this information to others in ways different from what is disclosed in this statement. Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to, home or other physical address, email address, your name, social security number, birth date, credit card or checking account number or telephone number.
2. Why is information collected?
Information may be collected in an effort to enhance your user experience, provide you with information regarding SafeDate services and special offers, and/or to provide the services you ordered.
We, or our authorized third party affiliates, may also collect general information about purchases as they correspond to our advertisements or products. This aggregate information may include demographic and usage information, but will not include personally identifiable information. This information is used in an aggregated manner (i.e. How many customers purchased service "ABC") to determine advertising effectiveness and is sometimes shared with our advertising partners for the same limited purpose.
In addition information is collected for the following purposes:
- When you order services or register on SafeDate properties, we may need you to provide your name, e-mail address, mailing address, phone number and credit card or checking account information.
- When you elect to be included in our opt-out or other information blocking program(s), we may need you to provide personally identifiable information, including but not limited to: your full name, e-mail address, mailing address, social security number, date of birth, past addresses and aliases. The opt-out program will not ensure that your personally identifiable information found in public records will not be disclosed. If you voluntarily submit your information for the purpose of not having your information distributed, it will only be used for that purpose and for no other purpose.
- When ordering services your information will be collected for purposes of payment, delivery of results and/or customer service related to your purchase or inquiry. SafeDate will also collect information about the party you are seeking.
- When navigating through the SafeDate Web site, you'll have an opportunity to decide whether or not you would like to be included on SafeDate's mailing list. If you are included on SafeDate's mailing list, we may notify you about important functionality changes to the Web site, new services and special offers we think you'll find valuable.
3. Does SafeDate have security measures in place to protect my information?
SafeDate implements a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personally identifiable information. User personal information is contained behind secured networks and is only accessible by a limited number of employees who have specific access rights to such systems. When you place orders or access your personal information, we offer the use of a secure server. All sensitive/credit information you supply is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology. Should it be necessary to transmit your personally identifiable information to a reputable third party vendor to: (1) fulfill our service commitment to you, (2) include you in our opt-out program, or (3) process your credit card, SafeDate will require all recipients of such information to maintain the information as confidential information, use the information for the limited and intended purpose and agree not to disclose such information to third parties.
4. Will SafeDate disclose the information it collects from its visitors to outside parties?
SafeDate will not sell, lease or rent personally identifiable information collected on the site or in any form, including but not limited to order forms and opt-out program requests.
SafeDate may send your personally identifiable information to third parties when:
- We have your consent.
- We need to share the information you provided for the purpose of fulfilling our service commitment to you.
- We need to send the information to companies working on SafeDate's behalf, including but not limited to credit card processing services (these companies have agreed to maintain information provided by SafeDate as secure, confidential information that will not be disclosed unless legally required to do so). When processing credit card payments, this information may be sent to reputable third parties for fraud detection. These vendors maintain an obligation of confidentiality with regard to such information and shall only use the information for the intended purpose and for no other reason.
- We find that you have violated any stated terms of service or conditions of purchase or use.
- We respond to court orders, legal process, government agencies or third party authorized fraud investigators.
5. Can SafeDate remove information about me from SafeDate reports?
SafeDate, accesses numerous third party databases to gather information for our reports. We do not maintain the databases used in our searches; rather we access separately maintained third party databases to collect information for the reports we provide.
If you would like to remove yourself from SafeDate reports you can do so by joining SafeDate's opt-out program. The opt-out program covers reports that contain non-public record information (sources like information compiled from magazine subscriptions) that is available for sale to the general public. SafeDate will use good faith efforts to help prevent your non-public record information from being distributed. We cannot provide any assurance that information that is otherwise public record information, such as court records, will be withheld. 6. Does SafeDate use "cookies" or pixel "tags"?
Cookies are bits of electronic information that a Web site can transfer to a visitor's hard drive to help tailor and keep records of his or her visit to the site. Cookies allow Web site operators to better customize visits to the site to your individual preferences. The use of cookies is standard on the Internet and many major Web sites use them. SafeDate may use cookies to help provide you with a better experience on our site; however, we do not store personally identifying information in cookies.
Like many Web sites, SafeDate may also use pixel tags, also known as beacons, spotlight tags or web bugs, to improve our understanding of site traffic, visitor behavior and response to promotional campaigns, as a supplement to our server logs and other methods of traffic and response measurement. We may also implement pixel tags provided by other companies, and limit the collection of information for the same purpose. We do not store personally identifying information in pixel tags.
7. Can I access the Personal Identifying Information that is collected during my visit?
SafeDate provides location and background services by conducting searches of information databases owned and maintained by third parties. For conducting a location or background search for an individual, SafeDate charges its customers a fee depending on the level of service requested. With the exception of the Free Preview Search on the homepage of this site, SafeDate does not provide location and background services free of charge. Customer may not review the information available to SafeDate through the information databases owned by third parties without paying the appropriate fee.
When you purchase SafeDate services, participate in the opt-out program or voluntarily provide contact information, SafeDate collects and stores your personal identifying information in our internal customer databases. In these instances, SafeDate collects and stores personal identifying information including, but not limited to your name, address, payment information, email address, social security number, aliases and date of birth. The information collected and stored in this manner is not incorporated into the services sold to SafeDate customers. SafeDate provides access to the personal identifying information collected in this manner and offers you the opportunity to review and correct inaccuracies of your personal information. In order to review or correct personal identifying information collected in this manner, you must send a written request to SafeDate including: (1) your name, complete address, purchase date and order reference if a purchase was made; (2) your complete name, any aliases, address and any additional information you originally supplied for the opt-out program; (3) your name and email address if you elected to receive materials from SafeDate. SafeDate will process your request to review or correct your personal identifiable information within 30 days of receipt. SafeDate will not process any third party requests. 8. What happens if there is a transfer of SafeDate's business?
As we continue to develop our business, we may acquire or divest businesses and/or assets, or be acquired ourselves. In such transactions, customer information generally is one of the transferred business assets.
